OUT OF THE BLUE

ABSTRACT IMPRESSIONS OF THE SEA BY LESLEY KOENIG EXHIBITION

Living in coastal southwestern Connecticut, one cannot help but be influenced by the beauty of the shoreline. That’s exactly what professional artist Lesley Koenig realized when she was selecting pieces for this exhibition. Having relocated from New York City twelve years ago, Koenig found that Coastal New England’s visual treasures had indeed become part of her spontaneous abstract works. In this exhibition, she celebrates the blessings of our beautiful surroundings. Koenig lives in Fairfield County with her family and maintains a studio in Bridgeport. www.lesleykoenigfineart.com

Rhonda Gentry

Rhonda began her love of painting in kindergarten when she was introduced to the world of finger painting.  From there she pursued art classes through elementary, middle, and high school winning several awards, which only fueled the fire.  She went on to college and graduated with a degree in Interior Design and continued on to the University of Illinois at Chicago graduating with the McNee Prize for top Senior in Art and Architecture History.  After graduation, Rhonda interned at the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio in Oak Park, Illinois.  Upon completion, she and her husband moved to San Francisco where she became Curator of three San Mateo County Museums.  From there they moved to Cincinnati Ohio and she began artistically painting home interiors.  After moving to Geneva, Illinois, Rhonda returned to painting with oils on canvas and began exhibiting her work.  Now living in Ridgefield, Connecticut, Rhonda continues to experiment and grow with her painting and is a Board Member in the Ridgefield Guild of Artists. Being involved in such an active and accepting art community has led me to really open up.  I’ve begun experimenting with acrylics and inks and have found that true abstract is where my passion lies.

multiple exposure photography by Margrit Schwarz

Margrit Schwarz is a photographer working at the intersection of art and science. Forever fascinated by shapes, forces, and patterns in both natural and urban environments, she uses intentional camera movement and multiple exposure techniques to create images that convey transition, motion, and a sense of directional chaos. The challenge of abstracting the essence of a scene is the driving force behind Margrit’s photographic work.
