Juror: Dr. Anna Swinbourne, Executive Director and CEO, 

Hill-Stead Museum


Anna Swinbourne, PhD is Executive Director and CEO of Hill-Stead Museum in Farmington, Connecticut. She is also an independent art historian, curator, and educator engaged in a variety of publication, exhibition, and art-market endeavors. Her noteworthy former projects include an exhibition on Paul Cézanne landscapes for Princeton University Art Museum in 2020. She taught in Connecticut as Visiting Professor of Art History at Trinity College. From 1999 to 2009, Dr. Swinbourne was on the painting and sculpture curatorial staff of The Museum of Modern Art, New York, In 2011, for her service to the Kingdom of Belgium, she was decorated by King Albert II and became a Knight of the Order of the Crown. Prior to joining MoMA, Anna was an Assistant Vice President in the Impressionist and Modern Art Department of Sotheby’s, New York. She was trained at the École du Louvre in Paris, Tufts University (B.A.), and the Institute of Fine Arts of New York University (M.A.; Ph.D.). She is a Trustee of Hill-Stead Museum as well as member of the Board of Managers of Lewis Walpole Library of Yale University and the Art Advisory Committee of King Baudouin Foundation United States.

Notification of Accepted Works: Saturday, March 23rd at 4pm

Drop off to Gallery: Thursday, March 28th from 2 to 4pm and Saturday, March 30th from 2 to 4pm (due to the Easter holiday, please note: drop offs are THURSDAY and SATURDAY)

Opening Reception: Saturday, April 6th from 4 to 6pm

Last View: show closes Sunday, May 5th at 4pm

Pick-up of all unsold work*: Sunday, May 5th from 4 to 5pm and Monday, May 6th from 2 to 4pm

*All work must be picked up during the pick-up periods or a $20 late fee will be applied. NO EXCEPTIONS. If you cannot be there yourself, please make arrangements with a friend or family member to pick up your work for you. The Guild cannot be responsible for works left behind. 



Artists 16 and older are eligible to enter. Original works are accepted in all media, created no earlier than 2021 and never previously exhibited at the Guild.  


Entry Fees: 

To become a member, do so before entering by either going to our website www.rgoa.org or calling the Guild at 203-438-8863 to join.

Artists may submit up to 5 works in any medium.

Members – $20 for first entry and $10 for each additional up to a total of 5. 

All fees payable by credit card via EntryThingy.

There are NO refunds for any reason.

Photos must be uploaded in .jpg format. The maximum file size is 5mb.  The minimum file size is 500kb and the minimum image width is 500px.

Please make sure your information is correct at the time of submission. Changes will not be allowed once the submission process closes. 

All work must be hand delivered and picked up at the Guild, no mailed in work will be accepted.  


Guidelines for Artwork: 

Up to 5 works per artist may be submitted. 

Original artwork only, please, no reproductions.  A.I. must now be included in your media listing if it was incorporated in the creation of your work.

Wall hung work can be 62 inches or smaller in any direction. Diptychs and triptychs are sold as one piece unless the artist pays a fee for each separate part. 

Pieces should be created no earlier than 2021 and not have been shown previously in the galleries. 

All work must be for sale. 


Original artwork only, please, no reproductions. A.I. must be noted in the medium list if it was incorporated to create your work.

Wall hung work must be securely wired with braided wire (unless there is an artistic reason to use another method) and ready for safe hanging. NO saw-tooth hangers. Any unsafe, non-professional framing, or presentation will not be accepted.  

Sculpture/Three-Dimensional work cannot be heavier than 100 lbs. and should be secure and stable on its base. We have a limited number of pedestals so yours would be appreciated. 

For Videos/Sound work, the artist must provide any equipment needed for installation.

For Accepted Artists:  

Please identify each work with a label/paper affixed to the back with your name, title, and contact information. There will be no labels provided when you drop off your work. 

All work must be hand delivered. No work will be accepted after the drop off period.  No work will be accepted by mail. 

All work must remain for the total duration of the show and may not be removed for any reason. 

All work must be collected during the pick-up period. If you cannot be there during those times, please make arrangements for someone to pick it up for you. No Exceptions. Work left will incur a $20 late fee. The Guild cannot be responsible for work left behind. 

We reserve the right to refuse any accepted entries that are improperly framed and/or misrepresented in the submission information and/or photos. 

Changes will not be allowed after the fact. 


RGOA Policies/Sales and Indemnity

We reserve the right to refuse any accepted entries that are: 

1) improperly framed or not wired ready for hanging.

2) were misrepresented in the photo submission. 



1) Sales Commission: 60% to artist, 40% to RGA. 

2) The Ridgefield Guild of Artists (RGA) agrees to handle all exhibitors’ work with care and caution; however, RGA is not responsible for damage to, or theft of any work brought for exhibit or left at the Guild after the duration of the show.  

3) By submitting online, you agree to RGA’s terms and conditions, which is required for participation in an RGA exhibit. 

4) Sale of any work that is part of this exhibition in our gallery, or work is commissioned as a result of this show, must be processed through the Guild for a period of sixty days following the conclusion of the show.
