Painting Essentials with Sam Morrow – MONDAYS
Sam Morrow
Sam Morrow will teach traditional painting techniques and methods. Beginning with a transcription of an old master painting, he will go through all basic processes from under painting, through body paint, glazing, scumbling, wet into wet, wet onto dry, transparency and opacity to name but a few. Students will apply the principles learned in their old master copy to their own paintings, working from still life, photographs or the imagination. Group discussion will be a feature in class as well as individual personal instruction. The aim is to bring out the uniqueness in the student and all levels are welcome, from absolute beginner to advanced. This class is for the oil or acrylic painter.
Sam Morrow was born and educated in London, England and has shown extensively in Britain and the United States. He has taught art at university level in Virginia, Ohio and Tennessee and now lives in Connecticut.
