Using the medium of choice, students will explore the road to abstraction.
Experimentation of space, surface, color, proportion, and mark-making will be
encouraged. Using art historical references and inspiration, students will develop an
individual language of abstraction.

Abolut Karen: Karen Pellecchia is a fine artist and has served as Professor of Art for over 40 years. Earning an MFA from Brooklyn College, Pellecchia studied with several of the second generation Abstract Expressionists of the New York School and is committed to sharing the skills and knowledge they imparted.
