Drawing Basics with Laura McCormick – Wednesdays 2:30-4:30 pm

A good drawing is the basis of all artwork. This class is suitable for complete beginners, as well as those who need to return to the basics. Students will concentrate on all aspects of drawing including composition, contour, perspective, and symmetry. We will bring our drawings to life with charcoal pencils, learning about values as we do. The class will work from still life objects set up by the instructor. The relaxed and nurturing atmosphere created by Laura’s teaching style will take all of the fear out of drawing!

Laura McCormick is a local artist that has been teaching others the joy of art for more than 15 years. She used her background in the printing industry and her degree in graphic design to develop her realistic style of portraiture. Her work has won many awards and can be found in private collections all over the country. Laura’s encouraging manner and relaxed teaching style has cultivated skills in all ages.
