This is an observational drawing class appropriate for all levels. Every week we learn a new drawing concept and practice it with exercises and then work toward a finished piece. We will cover value, composition, perspective and more. If you are a bit rusty and need a chance to review old skills or you have never picked up a pencil you are welcome to come out and join us.

Graphite pencils HB 2B and 4B
Kneadable eraser and white hard eraser

black ink – any brand
Brush – Sumi-E bamboo brush
palette – something like – Richeson Plastic Muffin Pans ( DIck Blick)

Michelle Schaffer holds a B.F.A from the Rhode Island School of Design. She works out of her studio in New Haven, where she explores her passion for the figure and works to communicate the complexities and beauty of the human form in relation to it’s environment.
