Playing with Color with Cindy Delaney – Tuesdays 10:00-1:00
Cindy Delaney Adult, Adult Fall
This color theory class for adults is all about letting go and just focusing on experimenting with color in a relaxed atmosphere. Fun activities include creating and working with color mixing through gradients via patterns or shapes to see every step of color transitions. Explore various color schemes and their application through projects that will allow the artist to focus more on color rather than just representation or technique. Class will discuss Color Science and reference how painters and artists we admired used color to grab our attention, cause emotion and feeling, or convey mood.
While most painted work will be done in acrylic, the basics of color theory and our discussions can be applied to any medium. Class is ideal for the beginner or intermediate artist who is looking to play and maybe find a new way to approach their work.
SUPPLIES: a list of supplies will be provided upon registration
Cindy Delaney received a BFA from the University of Connecticut with concentrations in Illustration and Design. After time spent working as a designer in advertising and packaging agencies she spent the past few years moving her focus back to art. Her works main focus is watercolor and acrylic with subjects that range from quirky still life to urban landscapes, conveying a strong sense of space and place. She loves finding inspiration in artists and subjects that push her out of her comfort zone, propelling her to expand her approach in medium and technique. After years of work, she still considers her Color Theory class as one of the most pivotal and inspirational and she is excited to help people possibly look at something in a new way.
