Drawing Fundamentals with Kathy Coe – Thursdays 1:30-3:30pm
Kathy Coe Archive: Adult
Students will be guided through all the fundamental techniques, materials and concepts of traditional drawing, including line, tone, volume, form, composition, proportion and much more.
The student will study observed drawing through still life, portraiture and other studio studies, working largely with traditional media such as charcoal and pencil. This course is great for beginners as well as intermediate level students.

16 x 20 sketch pad
small sketch pad, any size easy to carry around
large newsprint pad
graphite pencils, H, 2B, 4B, 8B
Charcoal pencils Medium and Soft
ink pen
kneaded eraser
Kathy Coe studied at The National Academy of Fine Art and Design, Du Cret School of the Arts, and at The Arts Students League in NYC. She studied with Ron Sherr, Marybeth McKenzie, Harvey Dinnerstein and Burton Silverman. She is represented by The Prince Street Gallery in Chelsea.
Kathy has won numerous awards for her work including: The Elizabeth Green Shields Grant, The National Academy Lorraine Grace award, The Edward Mooney Traveling Scholarship, The National Academy Annual Helen M. Loggi award, The James Sudan Bronze medal and the Salmagundi Silver Medal for drawing.
