Kathy Coe Archive: Middle and High School Students
This course incorporates a combination of guided instruction and independent studies with individualized instruction. Students will work from manikins, sculpture and from a clothed model, exploring the face and the figure and how to get a likeness. Students may work with a variety of drawing and painting mediums to learn the traditional techniques such as proportion, form, shading and composition. The focus will be on developing painting and drawing skills while gaining self-confidence.

Kathy Coe studied at The National Academy of Fine Art and Design, Du Cret School of the Arts, and at The Arts Students League in NYC. She studied with Ron Sherr, Marybeth McKenzie, Harvey Dinnerstein and Burton Silverman. She is represented by The Prince Street Gallery in Chelsea.
Kathy has won numerous awards for her work including: The Elizabeth Green Shields Grant, The National Academy Lorraine Grace award, The Edward Mooney Traveling Scholarship, The National Academy Annual Helen M. Loggi award, The James Sudan Bronze medal and the Salmagundi Silver Medal for drawing.
