The Art of the Knife with Susan Fehlinger Sunday, May 1, 2022 10:30am-3:30pm

Susan Fehlinger Archive: Workshops

In this one day workshop you’ll learn the joys and challenges of using the palette knife. Learn to add texture and highlights and a little edge; to mix colors right on your canvas and enjoy the spontaneity and the accidents.

Watch instructive demos, practice making marks with the knife and you’ll begin creating fresher, looser paintings. We’ll be covering a variety of subject matter to show how versatile this tool can be. We’ll also be experimenting with mediums to achieve transparent glazes and layering effects. Explore the possibilities of using this tool to unlock your creative freedom.

Susan Fehlinger is an accomplished artist who’s been using the palette knife exclusively for the last 20 years. Her oil paintings are widely exhibited throughout the northeast. www.susanfehlinger.com
