Always wanted to keep an artistic journal but didn’t know where to begin? Let illustrator Megan Jeffery show you an easy way to get started with documenting your daily life in a fun, creative, and colorful way! Megan will show you a variety of her journal pages for inspiration, which include a wide variety of techniques: Doodling, Drawing, Lettering, and decorated with Washi tape, stickers, and ephemera. For this two-hour workshop, Megan will get you started on making over a regular composition notebook — personalizing the covers and getting the pages set up, and will share tips to getting a regular journaling habit started.

Supply list will be provided upon registration.

Megan Jeffery, a Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) alumna, is an illustrator, maker, and teaching artist. As an illustrator specializing in the educational and editorial fields, her work has appeared in books, magazines, and in international classroom curriculums. As a maker, Megan’s three-dimensional works are frequently in fiber and in miniature, and often puppet-based. These works have been sold in online and brick-and-mortar shops, at trade and craft shows, and at open studios. Her puppets and miniatures have also been featured at Providence Children’s Museum, Florence Griswold Museum, and RISD’s Woods-Gerry Gallery.

Megan was also pleased to have been a participant in the prestigious Eugene O’Neill Theater Center’s National Puppetry Conference. As a teaching artist, Megan has brought her love of making art and sharing what she’s learned with a variety of audiences — from schools both public and private, facilities, museums and a craft school.
