The Ridgefield Guild of Artists presents Art Walk Ridgefield, when the streets of downtown Ridgefield turn into a strolling art gallery.

Now in our 8th year! The Ridgefield Guild of Artists invites all members in good standing to enter for the opportunity to be an exhibiting artist in Art Walk Ridgefield, when the streets of downtown Ridgefield turn into a strolling art gallery.

Art Walk Ridgefield kicks off on Friday, August 27, 5-8pm, with artist meet and greets outside the stores and continues on Saturday, August 28 from noon-4:00pm with an artists’ day. Demonstrations are also planned outside storefronts in town on Saturday.

Art Walk Ridgefield is a fundraising event to benefit The Ridgefield Guild of Artists.

 

Details:

Open to all members in good standing. Individuals who wish to join or renew must do so before entering by either going to our website www.rgoa.org or calling the Guild 203-438-8863 to join before submitting.
Accepted artists will be matched with participating merchants. This is a juried process.
Accepted artists will be notified via email by August 7, 2021. All others will be placed on a waiting list.

Categories: Call for submissions in all media, Painting, drawing, collage, colored pencil, pastel, watercolor, mixed media, photography, photo collage, video, sculpture, 3D, book art, etc.

 

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
The show is open to all Ridgefield Guild of Artists members age 16 and older.
Submit up to six images that best represent your work. These submitted images are used to determine best store placement, if accepted. (Note: Pieces that will be on display in the window of your assigned store are NOT necessarily the pieces you are submitting.)
You MUST be a member in good standing to apply.
$35 entry fee per person for members in good standing.
Fees are nonrefundable. Non-members may join prior to submitting their entries by going to https://rgoa.org/join-renew/.
Anyone who submits without being a member in good standing will be asked to join or renew, no refunds will be issued.
Entry into the show and placement in designated store is a juried process by the Art Walk Committee.

Deadline for Application is Saturday, July 31, 2021. No late entries will be accepted.

Submission through EntryThingy – (Please scroll down) Photos must be uploaded in jpg format. The maximum file size is 5mb, minimum file size is 100kb and the minimum image width is 500px in any direction.
No maximum size is required.

EXHIBITION REQUIREMENTS:
Once accepted, pieces available for inclusion in the show are determined between artist and store manager. Pieces may be displayed in window and/or inside store.
All artwork exhibited must be for sale.
All art is to remain in the window until the event closes on September 12, 2021 unless it is sold, then it can be replaced.
Artists can bring a bin of small works to sell outside the store during the opening weekend events August 27 and 28.

 

TERMS OF SALE
• All work exhibited during Art Walk Ridgefield is required to be for sale.
• A commission of 30% will be charged on all sales.
• The price of the artwork may not be changed after it is submitted.
• If a piece of art is sold and removed from the store, you may replace it with new work.
• All sales generated by Art Walk Ridgefield through November 12, 2021 must be handled through the Ridgefield Guild of Artists and a 30% commission will be charged.
• No private sales may be negotiated.
• All artwork will be handled professionally, and participating stores and restaurants will make every effort to assure the protection of all artworks. However, the stores, restaurants, nor the Ridgefield Guild of Artists are held responsible for loss or damage.
• Please remember that you and the merchant are partners for this event and should cooperate as such.

 

Important Dates:

• Saturday, July 31, 11:59pm: application deadline
• Saturday, August 7: notification of accepted artists via email and on our website
• Week of August 23: drop off artwork in stores
• Friday, August 27, 5-8pm: Art Walk opens with meet & greets
• Saturday, August 28, noon-4pm: Art Walk Artist Day
• Sunday, September 12: Art Walk closes

Accepted artists will receive detailed instructions for participation via e-mail
