Learn about a famous artist each week and make original works inspired by these famous artists. Experiment with different art materials each class while learning about each artist’s style: Georgia O’Keeffe (oil pastel), Wayne Thiebaud (painting), Maurice Sendak (illustration), Louise Nevelson (abstract sculpture), and Andy Warhol (printmaking).

Figure Drawing with Tania Henderson – Elementary (grades 3-5) Tuesdays 5-6pm

Learn to draw people using basic shapes, proportion, perspective, and anatomy. Practice in class by studying characters, creating self portraits, and drawing classmates. Extra time will be dedicated to drawing portraits, facial expressions, clothing, hands, and hair. No experience or special drawing talent required. Individual goals and styles are encouraged.

Create 2-dimensional works while learning both drawing and painting techniques. Instructor-guided projects can include still life, landscape, portrait, figure, abstraction and more.
